2006 LAYOUT AT B&O MUSEUM
DECEMBER 10, 2006 - PAGE 2
THE PUMPKIN - This pumpkin-colored GP38 pulled the excursion train this weekend because the NW2 broke down.  This is a genuine CSX paint job.
G SCALE ALCO RIDES A FULL SCALE E.M.D. - Chris the engineer brought along his RS3 today so he could run it on our layout.  He likes to run them both!
PUMPKIN PULLS AN EGGLINER - the Pumpkin looks like it's pulling an Eggliner.  In reality it's the back end of a streamlined observation car. G SCALE GUY IN A FULL SIZE TRAIN - We saw this little G scale figure hanging on the cord for the observation car's curtains.
AT THE CONTROLS - Chris carefully works the throttle and brake controls for a smooth ride for the passengers behind us.  His right hand is on the throttle.
SMOKING IT UP - Once we were in the clear Chris gave it a quick burst of accel-eration and here's the resultant smoke.  An Alco would have emitted black smoke.
PLENTY OF CLEARANCE - Looks like there's plenty of clearance between the car on the siding and the main line.
CLOSE CLEARANCE - Maybe not all that much clearance!
THE VIEW AHEAD - There's a good view of the track ahead.  The pedestrians in this area have an awful habit of crossing directly in front of a moving train!
THE VIEW BEHIND - While he's backing up to the platform, Chris knows exactly where to stop but has to listen to the conductor telling him exactly when to stop.
