The Baltimore N-Trak layout was set up Thursday and will be in the Roundhouse for two weeks. BIG SCENES - One of the advantages of N Scale is the ability to depict large scenes. In G scale this module would be over 16 feet wide!
UNION STATION is on the sign, and it's a beautiful model, but it's not based on the actual Baltimore Union Station, which was built and served by the Pennsylvania RR. MT. ROYAL STATION was once the Baltimore stop for the B&O's Blue Line trains between Washington DC and New York.  The building is now the Museum of Art.
THOMAS VIADUCT is a famous landmark just south of Baltimore, over 150 years old and still handling a busy double track main line.  The back of this Chessie multilevel train is still crossing Thomas Viaduct as the head end passes this well-detailed factory scene.
PSYCHO - The Bates Motel is depicted in this scene from the movie Psycho.  Mother is watching Norman from one of those windows in the house up on the hill.
FIRE! - The Ezzy Wize Tool Co. factory is on fire, but there are plenty of firemen on the scene, including a couple of fireboats.  Looks like the boxcar didn't get pulled out of the siding in time.  I'll report on the fire tomorrow.
