| ABOUT TO CRASH - It looks like this airplane is about to crash into the cupola, but no, it's off in the distance, pulling an advertising sign over the nearby football stadium. Today the Ravens beat the Browns 27 to 17. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| HISTORIC BALTIMORE - When I asked somebody where the Bromo Tower is, they said "Right down the street!" Indeed, here it is, as seen from the Roundhouse. The building on the left is 10 Light Street, also known as the Maryland Trust Building. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| HOOK AND LADDER - Bob ran the Hook and Ladder Car he got on eBay. It's not a commercial model, it's something kitbashed by another modeler. | THE FIREMEN - In the next train are the firemen who will operate the Hook and Ladder truck, as well as all the other apparatus. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| A HAPPY BUNCH - after the train ride ends, lots of people come to visit us. As you can see, there are lots of happy faces, especially since I asked them to smile! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| COAL TRAIN - Pete's 30-car train ran throughout the day, and here it's stopped for a picture. Joe C. ran a long Pennsylvania RR train, but it was a little camera shy. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| RAVENS DISCOUNT DAY - Anyone wearing Ravens gear got a dollar off today. These guys are just as happy to be at the B&O Museum as watching the game. | LOOK AT THAT, MOM - I'm not sure what they're looking at, but there's plenty of train action right in front of them as the coal train passes the Pennsy train. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| EXTRA LARGE SCALE - Museum staffer Tracy is running the ride-on train just outside our building. Every car on the train is a locomotive, so every rider is an engineer. This operation is track powered, about 15 inch gauge. | HIGH FIVE - The young engineers give Tracy a high five as they roll down the track. Her replacement is sitting by the controls, ready to take over. This photo was actually taken the Sunday before but I couldn't fit it in. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
| IT STINKS AROUND HERE - Museum staffers Tania and Sarah have to hold their noses because of the odor. The Trash Train was probably detouring because of the Ravens game. It's headed up north to New York City for another load of trash. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
| LOOK! A TRAIN! - Chris the engineer hadn't seen any trains on the CSX main near the museum for several weeks. He even backed up the train so the passengers could see the passing train. But it wasn't just any train, it was the Trash Train. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
