The Baltimore Society of Model Engineers invited members of our club to visit during the celebration of their 75th Anniversary.  The BSME is a model railroading club that has two layouts, in HO and 2-rail O scale, located at 225 West Saratoga Street in downtown Baltimore.  Their website is www.modelengineers.com .

HO LAYOUT

As you enter the layout room, you immediately encoun-ter a famous Baltimore landmark, the Bromo Tower.

At first glance, I though these HO people had a protest going on, but look closer and you can read the signs: Happy 75th BSME, Yah BSME, BSME 4ever, I Love BSME, and Save the BSME.

Here's a view of the HO layout from the top of the Bromo Tower.

The turntable and roundhouse are located at the other end of the yard.

Further up the aisle is this view of the yard, caboose track, and shops.

Also found by the roundhouse are these two B&O engines.

Look who's hiding around the corner - a classy New York Central steam engine.

Toward the back of the layout under the truss bridges is this narrow-gauge line.

Here's a unique 3-dimensional sign outside the railroad's Wilson Shops.
