MASON DIXON FLOOR LAYOUT
AT GREAT SCALE TRAIN SHOW
FEBRUARY 2 & 3, 2008

NEW FIELD - Art brought along a camouflage sheet which looks pretty good as a farmer's field, and it's very easy to set up.
POPULAR PLACE - despite the fact that it's Superbowl Sunday, we had quite an audience.  There seemed to be a lot of kids at the show today.
BARNYARD FULL OF ANIMALS - All kinds of critters are hanging out around the barn.  It must be feeding time.
Logging Engine - This is Bob S.'s Heisler, in which the engine's cylinders are located on each side of the boiler, in a vee arrangement similar to a car's V-8 engine.
VISITOR - one of the dealers asked if he could run his Accucraft K-27 engine on our layout.  Sure, no problem!  It's a big, beautiful locomotive with great sound. SPEEDING - the big locomotive speeds along the line.  It dwarfed all the other trains on the railroad, including its own passenger car.
BROKEN THOMAS - He threw a connecting rod.  But soon the audience was demanding his return to action. SURGEON - The doctor dons his mask and gets to work.  We ended up running Thomas without a right-side connecting rod, and nobody seemed to mind.
A RESTING BUDD - The Budd Car had a derailment and lays on its side, headlight still on, wheels still turning, since it's a battery-powered car.
TWO-TRACK RIDE - The rear wheels took a different route than the front, so the Budd Car was riding both tracks at the same time!
RETURNING GUESTS - It's great to see familiar faces in the crowd.  Mommy and Stevie visited us several times at the B&O Museum, and brought Daddy and baby sister along today.  Stevie has a place to stand while his sister sleeps. BYOT - BRING YOUR OWN TRAIN - This little boy brought his pull-along train with him.  Believe it or not, with all the model trains here at the show, this is the first time I've seen a pull-along train here!
